At YUME-KANA Study Abroad, our in-house YUME-KANA English service is highly unique in many ways: We are not an eikaiwa or a school, and our English lessons are tailored specifically to the diverse needs of our adult students who plan on building their language skills in preparation for a working holiday or study abroad trip. Our service combines both online and in-person lessons, serving as a foundational step in our students’ personal journeys that can often lead to exciting opportunities for personal and professional growth in the future. Main Responsibilities: ・Provide tailor-made English lessons for adult students who plan to study or work abroad (working holiday) ・Instruct students through conversation-based lessons, resume writing, and interview practice. ・Be entrusted with individual lesson planning and some curriculum development. ※Curriculums are designed according to the various types of study abroad plans, (e.g., job interview practice for working holidays or overseas internships or presentation practice in preparation for enrollment at an overseas college or university). Details: ・One-on-one & Group lessons (max. 10 students). ・Each lesson lasts 55 minutes. ・Weekdays: 3-5 lessons; Weekends: 5-7 lessons. ・Students are primarily between the ages of 18-30.

Application conditions

《Required qualities》 ・English teaching experience (at least 1 year of teaching experience with adult students) ・Experience studying abroad or working in a holiday program for over 6 months. ・General PC skills (PPT/Excel/Word) ・English proficiency (one of the following): TOEIC score 850 or above /Eiken Level 1 or above /TOEFL IBT score 90 or above /IELTS 7.5 /Cambridge Exam /Overseas university degree ・References (at least 2) 《Preferred qualities》 ・Certifications (TESOL/TEFL ) ・Proficiency in the Japanese language is preferred but not mandatory. ・Basic computer & and class operation skills using Google Drive, Microsoft Office, etc. 《Type of people we look for》 ・Those with great communication & and social skills. ・Able to encourage and inspire others to reach their goals. ・A great team player who can communicate well and execute tasks on time. ・People who are confident. ・People who are unafraid to share their opinions.
